Just when Piedmont appeared to be on a roll after picking up back-to-back wins over Class 5A, eighth-ranked Deer Creek and Guthrie, the Lady Wildcats took a step back.
It didn’t help matters when Piedmont lost its third starter of the season last week at Bethany when sophomore forward Kylie Boggess went down with an ankle injury. Seniors Brook Ross and Jessica Tilley were lost to injuries earlier in the season.
The Lady ‘Cats suffered their third straight setback Tuesday night against Shawnee on senior night at Collett Fieldhouse.
There’s no question that Piedmont has missed the scoring ability of Boggess, a versatile forward who can play inside and on the perimeter.
The Lady ‘Cats managed just 18 points against Carl Albert (36-18 loss) on Suburban Conference Super Saturday last weekend.
