Marching band begins a new
season with same old work ethic

   Piedmont High School band director Darnell Zook doesn’t spend much time setting goals for how his marching band will do in competition this year, but you can’t blame him for having high expectations. 
   The Pride of Piedmont marching band has lived up to its name by taking first place in class Four A state competition for six years in a row.

The 2010 wheat harvest began in the area June 1, and already, the expectation is that this will be a better harvest than last year’s, with higher grain yields.  However, while Oklahoma has a lot of grain, the worldwide market is seeing a large amount of wheat, which may bring the yield as low as $3 per bushel.
